In our house we are a bunch of nerds. And very proud of it. We think we are cool as hell. But still, nerds. We are smart. We love to learn. We love science. And sci-fi. And fantasy. Dragons, we really love dragons. Legos to Legolas, Star Wars to Star Trek, Dungeons and Dragons to Disney castles. We love to dress up and imagine and create. I made this to go on our family room wall. I used distress paints on canvas and then vinyl for the lettering. Weeding the words was a bitch. But it was worth it.
"In this house, we believe in magic.
We have epic adventures
and unexpected journeys.
Once upon a time
and in galaxies far, far away.
We do wibbley, wobbley timey, whimey stuff while
going where no one has gone before.
We assemble and defend.
We know the answer to everything is 42
and that the odds are ever in our favor.
We never say die.
We do cosplay and fun.
We aim to misbehave
and we don't care what others think.
Because in this house,
we do GEEK!"

Happy Birthday Eli!!
Today my oldest turns 15. It doesn't seem possible. I am really getting this old? Yes, I think I may be.
When I look at him, sometimes I still see the mischievous, white haired toddler he was. The one that dressed like Joe from Blues Clues and would act out Nightmare Before Xmas when he watched it everyday. They sure grow up too fast. Eli is an amazing kid! He is super smart, creative, witty and has my warped sense of humor. He reminds me often that even though I may think something isn't gonna work, he will find a way. I am so proud of the man he is becoming. He stands up for what he feels is right. He doesn't buy into what others may say until he looks up the facts for himself. He is one of the few people that can shock or surprise me. I love you Eli, always, no matter what. And no matter how old you get, you are still my baby boy.
On to his card. I used the guitar card file from the Silhouette store for the card. I used the Silhouette sketch pen in silver for the inside sentiment on the black cardstock. I did the outline in the SSDE and cut it out with my Cameo. I added red and white homemade enamel dots. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Lawn Fawn So Much to Say stamp set. I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black and embossed it.
Now to go dry my eyes and ice his cake.

Video Game Controller Card
My oldest son's friend Cody had a birthday last month. Eli wanted to make a card based off of a youtube show they like. Cody is also into the mustaches and loves the color hot pink. I used a Silhouette file for the controller. The mustache is popped up with foam squares.
