Happy Birthday Moo!!

My sweet baby girl is turning 9 today.  Boy, does time fly!  She is an amazing little girl.  Strong will and strong mind.  She was nearly 6 weeks early because she was impatient.  She still wants every thing immediately and she knows exactly what it is and how it should be done.  She is in charge everywhere she goes.  I fully expect her to take over the world someday.  Happy Birthday to my darling Maggie Moo, I love you!

Maggie wanted a Valentine's theme for her birthday.  We got our pug, Beulah in September and she is just a bundle of love and kisses.  So we went with Pugs and Kisses.
I used a file from SVG Cutting Files and played with it a bit to make the little pug hold the hearts.

I made a shaker card for her too.  I used the same pug file and some balloons and a party hat from the silhouette store.  This little guy when on her party invitations too.

Minecraft Banner

All my kids love Minecraft!!!  Dylan's birthday was in February and he wanted a Minecraft banner this year.  I used the Minecraft svg's from Krafty Nook. My brother's kids also love Minecraft.  His birthday is in May and he wanted a cake that the kids would enjoy.  I used rice crispy treats for the sand, cookie icing for the water and buttercream for the grass.  I couldn't find any of my grass tips (of course!) so I had to improvise.  The chocolate icing is made with Duncan Hines classic chocolate and peanut butter oreos and double chocolate oreos.  It was a big hit!  The cake may not be the prettiest, but it tasted so good.  I kept grabbing a piece of the extra cake left over after it was assembled and adding buttercream to it every time I walked through the kitchen.  I was thinking, why don't I make this icing and cake more often?  Then I remembered that I have 2 pairs of jeans that fit and all the rest are too small.  :D

Frozen Banner

Our sweet neighbor turned 7 and had a Frozen party.  I did a quick banner for her.  Most of the graphics I used are from Ice Princess by Lettering Delights.

More Pirate Monkeys

Here are a few pics from Bella's Pirate Monkey 1st Birthday party.  I made 2 banners, one of rosettes and a HB skull and crossbones, cupcake wrappers and toppers, personalized pirate coins, treasure chests, menu cards, stickers and tattoos.  Plus made the birthday girl's onesie (heat transfer vinyl) and tutu.  So much fun to put together!

Maggie's Monster High Birthday

Maggie turned 7 in early February.  She was and still is into all things Monster High!  I love that show too, since it teaches kids that just because someone is different on the outside, doesn't mean they are bad and that you can still be great friends.  Here is the card and banner I made for her special day.  Again, not the best lighting or picture taking skills, but I enjoyed making them and she loved them!

card base, cake, and card banner all from the Silhouette store.

Dylan's Doctor Who 11th Birthday

Dylan has been a Whovian for a few years now.  In fact, we all are, thanks to Dyl.  For the 2nd year now, Doctor Who has been his theme of choice.    I used SVGs from The Doctor and The Enemies from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  Banner shape and card base from the Silhouette store.  He was very happy with it and so was I!

Luke's Monster Truck Birthday

Luke turned 9 in March.  Poppa Tony had taken him to his very first Monster Jam a few weeks before, so that was his favorite thing for a while.  I made his banner, card and cupcake toppers for his class.  The tire shape was from a Monster Truck file and a slider card base, both found in the Silhouette store, the images I Googled and used trace in the Silhouette studio.  He loved it!

Hopefully, my photography skills will improve!

Let's give this a shot!

I have been considering starting a blog for a long while now.  I think today is as good as any to finally do it.  I love to get crafty!  Right now my favorites are making cards and party things for my kids and family.  My oldest son is turning 14 in a few days.  No big party this year, but I did make his card and a banner.  I love making birthday banners, party or not, just because!

I used Ninja Kicks from Lettering Delights and GB Shinto font, along with a banner shape from the Silhouette store. The ninjas are popped up with foam dots for dimension.
